Another Purse

My hubby and I went to Wal Mart this morning. We bought some groceries and also some yarns that I'm going to crochet to make another scarf and also to continue the bed spread that I'm crocheting. Then my hubby went to check out while I was busy looking at the bags, socks and jogging suits. I wanted to buy a pair of jogging suit but then I changed my mind. But I was able to buy me a pair of toe socks and a white purse. I've been wanting to have a white purse to match my white sandals and clothes. When I saw that the price of the purse was marked down more than 50% off, I grabbed the white purse and it's the last one of that style. I went to check out and after I paid, I found my hubby sitting near the entrance door waiting on me. I told him I bought a purse and he said, as if I needed one. He knows that I have a collection of purses but I told him I don't have a white purse yet. Purses and shoes are my weaknesses.

Stop Drinking Softdrinks

Please read this. An interesting piece of information.......

Have a look at the wrapper on a Coca-Cola 1.5 liter bottle and in the ingredients label you will find phosphoric acid in it. Minute quantities of ethylene glycol are also used (which is acknowledged in the soft drink world for making it really chill).

This is popularly known as anti-freeze which prevents water from
freezing at 0 deg C and instead drops it 4-5 degrees with minute
quantities. This chemical is a known slow poison in the caliber of
arsenic. So, if you manage to drink about 4 liters of Coke within
an hour or so, you can die.

Read along and give up these dangerous things. Be natural;
have flavored milks, tender coconuts, buttermilk, and plain water
instead of these "soft" drinks.

Guess what's the pH for soft drinks, e.g. Coke? PH 3.4! This acidity is strong enough to dissolve teeth and bones!

Our human body stops building bones at the age of about 30.
Soft drinks do not have any nutrition value (in terms of vitamins
&minerals). It is high in sugar content, carbonic acid, chemicals i.e. colorings etc. Some like to take cold soft drinks after each meal. Guess what's the impact? Our body needs an optimum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius for digestive enzyme functioning.

The temperature of cold soft drinks is very much below 37 degrees
or even close to 0 degrees Celsius. This will dilute the enzymes &
stress the digestive system. The food taken will not be digested.
In fact it will be fermented! The fermented food produces
gases, decays and becomes toxin, gets absorbed by the intestine,
circulates in the blood stream and is carried to the whole body. Hence toxin is accumulated in other parts of the body, developing into various diseases.

Think before you drink coke/Pepsi (or any soft drink) again.
Take water or juices instead. Have you ever thought what
you drink when you drink an aerated drink? You gulp down
carbon dioxide, when nobody in the world would advise you to
drink CO2.

Two months back, there was a competition at Delhi University
"Who could drink the most Coke?" The winner drank 8 bottles
and fainted on the spot-too much CO2 in the blood. Thereafter,
the principal banned all soft drinks from the college canteen!
While this might have been an extreme measure, their results
do provide some food for thought. Did you know that soft drinks
use chemicals in them that cause immense harm to you. Someone
put a broken tooth in a bottle of Pepsi and in 10 days it DISSOLVED!
Can you believe it? Teeth and bones are the only human parts
that stay intact for years after death.

Imagine what the drink must be doing to your soft intestines and
stomach lining!

Butter Vs. Margarine

Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back. It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with some clever new flavorings.

DO YOU KNOW.. the difference between margarine and butter?

Read on to the end...gets very interesting!

Both have the same amount of calories.

Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.

Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.

Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added!

Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods.

Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years.

And now, for Margarine...

Very high in trans fatty acids.

Triple risk of coronary heart disease.
Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)

Increases the risk of cancers up to five times the normal risk.

Lowers quality of breast milk.

Decreases immune response.

Decreases insulin response.

And here's the most disturbing fact.... HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!

Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC!!!

This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).

Try this test yourself:

Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things:

* no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)

* it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value ; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not a find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic. Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

Share This With Your Friends..... (If you want to 'butter them up')!

Chinese Proverb:
When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others.

Burglary in Florida

When southern Florida resident Nathan Radlich's house was burglarized recently, thieves ignored his wide screen plasma TV, his VCR, and even left his Rolex watch. What they did take, however, was 'a generic white cardboard box filled with a grayish-white powder.' (That's the way the police report described it.)

A spokesman for the Fort Lauderdale police said, 'that it looked similar to high grade cocaine and they'd probably thought they'd hit the big time.' Later, Nathan stood in front of numerous TV cameras and pleaded with the burglars: 'Please return the cremated remains of my sister, Gertrude. She died three years ago.'

The next morning, the bullet-riddled corpse of a local drug dealer known as Hoochie Pevens was found on Nathan's doorstep. The cardboard box was there too; about half of Gertrude's ashes remained.

Scotch taped to the box was this note which said: Hoochie sold us the bogus blow, so we wasted Hoochie. Sorry we snorted your sister. No hard feelings. Have a nice day.

And you thought California was the land of fruits and nuts!

Jesus is Lord Tag

Thanks Richelle for this tag. I really like this tag because it's about my dear Lord Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

Proverbs 22:5-6 In the paths of the wicked lie thorns and snares, but he who guards his soul stays far from them. Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. All children must learn that there is only one King of all Kings and Lord of Lords and that is: Jesus Christ!

I am passing this to Grace, Rocks and Ging.

The Amazing Power Of Music

Listening to music is a great way to make exercising more enjoyable. MP3 players are an excellent way to do this. But as science is now beginning to document, music may have a much greater impact on your health than previously imagined.

Exercising to Music Can Boost Your Verbal Skills

For example, while studies have shown that exercising alone has the capability to improve your mood and increase the speed of your decision-making process, listening to music while exercising has been shown to improve verbal fluency as well.

A 2003 study published in the journal Heart Lung found that listening to music while exercising boosted cognitive levels and verbal fluency skills in people diagnosed with coronary artery disease.

Coronary artery disease has been linked to a decline in cognitive abilities. In this study, signs of improvement in the verbal fluency areas more than doubled after listening to music compared to that of the non-music session.

Music Reduces Stress and Improves Healing

Music is a great mood regulator, whether it’s used in conjunction with exercise or not. Loud, upbeat music generally has a stimulating effect, whereas slow music can act as a sedative.

It’s very encouraging that more and more health professionals are beginning to realize the value of simple techniques such as music, using it as an adjunct to promote healing even in more conventional medical settings. As pediatrician Linda Fisher stated in the article above, it’s the music’s rhythm, melody and tonal quality that puts the patient in that “special place of peace” where healing can be achieved faster.

For example, harp music might be particularly helpful for people who have heart trouble. Harvard researchers have shown that the rhythms of healthy hearts may be similar to those found in classical music, and that certain rhythms, such as that of harp music can cause your heart to beat more normally.

Other studies from the early 1990s concluded that music significantly lowered the heart rates and calmed and regulated the blood pressures and respiration rates of patients who had undergone surgery.

Music therapy has also been shown to:

*
Improve motor skills in patients recovering from strokes
*
Boost your immune system
*
Improve mental focus
*
Help control pain
*
Create a feeling of well-being
*
Reduce anxiety

One study published in the October issue of The Journal of Clinical Nursing found that pregnant women listening to soothing music showed significant reductions in stress, anxiety and depression.
