Before going out for lunch at Golden Corral today to celebrate the 28th wedding anniversary of Pastor Yanie and Sis Modie, we thought of taking photos inside our house. We wanted to have souvenirs with our guests. They will be flying to Los Angeles on Tuesday and after three weeks there, they gonna fly back to the Philippines. We will surely miss them but they have works to do there in their church. They're planning to come back again sometime next year. They told me that they will visit my family in Pangasinan. They live in Pampanga and it's just about 3 hours drive. I sent some stuff to them for my sister. Not that bulky because they don't have room no more. Well, here are the photos that we took. Our mattress is already old and needs a replacement. Hubby is already complaining that the mattress is hard on his back that's why he likes to sleep in the other room where the mattress is soft. Last Thursday, our Filipino friends Pastor Yanie and his wife Sis Modie came up here and visited us. Hubby and I were so glad to have them here in our house and they spent the night with us. They are good Christian friends and we really enjoyed their company. They invited us to Cici's Pizza and we met there those people from their church in Bowie. They all came up here in Wichita Falls and have a Christmas celebration at Cici's Pizza. This is a buffet restaurant that serves different kinds of pizza pies. They also have vegetable salad. The East Side Baptist Church paid our meals and it was really a blessing. Hubby had the chance to talk to Pastor Jamie Reed, their church pastor. I was only able to eat 4 slices of different pizza flavors and I already got full. That's the most I can eat. My hubby had eaten a lot though. He loves pizza pies. We went home very full.

I recently made a batch of pancakes for my healthy 14-year-old son, using a mix that was in our pantry. He said that they tasted "funny," but ate them anyway. About 10 minutes later, he began having difficulty breathing and his lips began turning purple. I gave him his allergy pill, had him sit on the sofa and told him to relax. He was wheezing while inhaling and exhaling.
My husband, a volunteer firefighter and EMT, heated up some water, and we had my son lean over the water so the steam could clear his chest and sinuses. I did just that, and found an article the next day that mentioned a 19-year-old male DYING after eating pancakes made with outdated mix. Apparently, the mold that forms in old pancake mix can be toxic!
When we told our friends about my son's close call, we were surprised at the number of people who mentioned that they should check their own pancake mix since they don't use it often, or they had purchased it some time ago. With so many people shopping at warehouse-type stores and buying large sizes of pancake mix, I hope your readers will take the time to check the expiration date on their boxes.
Also, beware of outdated Bisquick, cake, brownie and cookie mixes.
