keep for weeks.
=============================================
When boiling corn on the cob, add a pinch of sugar to help bring out the
corn's natural sweetness
.========== ====================! ======== =======
Cure for headaches: Take a lime, cut it in half, and rub it on your
forehead. The throbbing will go away.
=============================================
To get rid of itch from mosquito bites, try applying soap on the area
and you will experience instant relief.
=============================================
Ants, ants, ants everywhere ... Well, they are said to never cross a chalk
line. So, get your chalk out and draw a line on the floor or wherever ants
tend to march. See for yourself.
=============================== =============
Use air-freshener to clean mirrors.! It does a good job and better still,
leaves a lovely smell to the shine.
============================================
When you get a splinter, reach for the scotch tape before resorting to
tweezers or a needle. Simply put the scotch tape over the splinter, and
then pull it off. Scotch tape removes most splinters painlessly and easily.
=====================================
Now look what you can do with Alka Seltzer. .......
Clean a toilet.

The citric acid and effervescent action clean vitreous China.

Helpful Tips (Part I)
Posted by Lisa at Thursday, May 22, 2008A sealed envelope - Put in the freezer for a few hours, then slide a
knife under the flap. The envelope can then be resealed.
(hmmmmmm...)
============================================
Use Empty toilet paper roll to store appliance cords. It keeps them
neat and you can write on the roll what appliance it belongs to.
============================================
For icy door steps in freezing temperatures: get warm water and put
Dawn dish washing liqu id in it. Pour it all over the steps. They won't
refreeze. (wish I had known this for the last 40 years!)
============================================
To remove old wax from a glass candle holder, put it in the freezer for
a few hours. Then take the candle holder out and turn it upside down. The
wax will fall out.
=================================================
Crayon marks on walls? This worked wonderfully! A damp rag, dipped
in baking soda. Comes off with little effort (elbow grease that is!).
============================================
Permanent marker on appliances/counter tops (like store receipt
BLUE!) rubbing alcohol on paper towel.
=============================================
Whenever I purchase a box of S.O.S Pads, I immediately take a pair of
scissors and cut each pad into halves. After years of having to thro w
away rusted and unused and smelly pads, I finally decided that this would
be much more econom! ical. No w a box of S.O.S pads last me indefinitely!
In fact, I have noticed that the scissors get 'sharpened'' this way!
=============================================
Blood stains on clothes? Not to worry! Just pour a little hydrogen
peroxide on a cloth and proceed to wipe off every drop of blood. Works
every time! (Now, where to put the body?) LOL
=============================================
Use vertical strokes when washing windows outside and horizontal
for inside windows. This way you can tell which side has the streaks.
Straight vinegar will get outside windows really clean. Don't wash windows
on a sunny day. They will dry too quickly and will probably streak.
============================================
Spray a bit of perfume on the light bulb in any room to create a lovely
light scent in each room when the light is turned on.
============================================
Place fabric softener sheets in dresser drawers and y our clothes will
smell freshly washed for weeks to come. You can also do this with towels
and linen.
=============================================
Candles will last a lot longer if placed in the freezer for at least 3
hours prior to burning.
=============================================
To clean artificial flowers, pour some salt into a paper bag and add the
flowers. Shake vigorously as the salt will absorb all the dust and dirt
and leave your artificial flowers looking like new! Works like a charm!
=============================================
To easily remove burnt on food from your skillet, simply add a drop or
two of dish ! soap and enough water to cover bottom of pan, and bring to
a boil on stove to p.
==============================================
Spray your TUPPERWARE with nonstick cooking spray before pouring
in tomato based sauces and there won't be any stains.

Surprise Your Loved Ones
Posted by Lisa at Tuesday, May 20, 2008I am the type of person who thinks of my loved ones and friends on their special occasions in their lives like their birthdays and anniversaries. I always make it s point to send them greeting cards especially birthday cards to show them that I think of them and that they're special to me. There are lots of stores that sells greeting cards but I like to buy mine at Cards Direct. Their greeting cards can be personalized with custom imprint, company logos, printed photos, message inside, printing your return address on the envelope flap and many more! I've first seen these type of cards when a friend of ours gave us a customized Christmas card a couple of years ago. I was so impressed and so I had to search where to buy cards like that until I found cards direct online. I'm glad they offer customizable cards and I'm pretty sure my friends and loved ones would be surprised and impressed too when they receive these cards that I'm going to send them. I like their Gold Bow birthday card because it's simple yet it look so elegant. I can send it to either male or female birthday celebrant. When I order cards, I order them in bulk because I can save more that way. These site offers different kinds of cards so you can choose what you want. I encourage you to visit this site and check out the different styles and designs of cards that they offer. I'm pretty sure you would love them.

Don't Eat Chicken Sandwiches, No Matter What.....
Posted by Lisa at Monday, May 19, 2008This is really funny. It made me laugh!!!
A little boy and a little girl attended the same school and became friends. Every day they would sit together to eat their lunch. They discovered that they both brought chicken sandwiches every day! This went on all through the fourth and fifth Grades, until one day he noticed that her sandwich wasn't a chicken sandwich. He said, 'Hey, how come you're not eating chicken, don't you like it anymore?' She said 'I love it but I have to stop eating it.'
'Why?' he asked. She pointed to her lap and said 'Cause I'm starting to grow little feathers down there!' 'Let me see' he said. 'Okay' and she pulled up her skirt. He looked and said, 'That's right. You are! Better not eat any more chicken.' He kept eating his chicken sandwiches until one day he brought peanut butter. He said to the little girl, 'I have to stop eating chicken sandwiches, I'm starting to get feathers down there too!' She asked if she could look, so he pulled down his pants for her!
She said 'Oh, my God, it's too late for you! You've already got the NECK and GIZZARDS!!!

Amazing Talent
Posted by Lisa at Friday, May 16, 2008
I was really so amazed with this young Filipina talent in the name of Charice Pempengco. I've watched her videos and she really got a very powerful voice. Oh my, she's so petite but she can belt out those high notes of the songs that she sang. Charice Pempengco is now known to be the International Singing Sensation, International Young Diva and Youtube Sensation. She wows the world with her singing voice. She made the Filipinos proud for representing the country abroad and guesting to famous tv shows like Oprah and Paul O´Grady Show in London. A star is born. Watch out for her.

Wacky Moments
Posted by Lisa at Wednesday, May 14, 2008Here are some wacky moments and stolen shots during Mother's Day celebration in our house. Our friends came to visit us and we had fun eating and picture taking. There were 4 cameras and sometimes we got confused of who's taking the pictures because our photographers took photos at the same time.
Josie, me, Ann and Ging...having fun and wanting to become pregnant, lol!
My hubby is showing his belly and I'm having fun!!!
Who's got the biggest belly among these guys??
The photographers were being photographed too.
My friend Ging is hiding her beauty in the corner. My hubby took this stolen shot.
Wildest Vacation
Posted by Lisa at Wednesday, May 14, 2008One city that my hubby and I have been to was San Francisco. Our friends took us there when we went on vacation at their house four years ago. I tell you, the view there is so pretty. We went to see the Golden Gate. I always wanted to see it when I was still in the Philippines. I was so fascinated when we were on our way going there. We passed by the bay areas and when we were finally at the Golden Gate, we took a lot of pictures and video. We saw from a distance the Alcatraz. Then we drove across the Golden Gate bridge and we went to see the other side of the bridge and we took pictures there again. We then drove around the streets of San Francisco and we took photos on the street in front of those tall buildings. Then we drove to Lombar Street. I call this the long and winding road and we were driving slow for the sight-seeing. Then we decided to get of the car and stop the traffic just to take photos. I guessed the cars behind us got mad because the road was one way and they had to wait. We then went to visit one of my classmates in college who was already residing there. But we got lost on the way being first timers there. We managed to find his place after several turns and it so happened that it was his daughter's birthday.So we had fun eating and chatting. If you want to see this city or other cities you can visit Trusted Tours and Attractions for more sightseeing tours and what tourist spots to visit around San Francisco. If you're planning to visit Las Vegas, Trusted Tours will give you an idea about the Things to do in Las Vegas. If you sign up for their newsletter you can have the chance of winning a $150 iTunes gift card. Offer ends Saturday, May 31st, 2008, so hurry!

Retirement Dinner
Posted by Lisa at Tuesday, May 06, 2008A priest was being honored at his retirement dinner after 25 years in the parish. A leading local politician and member of the congregation were chosen to make the presentation and give a little speech at the dinner. He was delayed, so the priest decided to say his own few words while they waited.
'I got my first impression of the parish from the first confession I heard here. I thought I had been assigned to a terrible place. The very first person who entered my confessional told me he had stolen a television set and, when questioned by the police, was able to lie his way out of it. He had stolen money from his parents, embezzled from his employer, had an affair with his boss's wife; taken illegal drugs, and gave VD to his sister. I was appalled. But as the days went on I knew that my people were not all like that and I had, indeed, come to a fine parish full of good and loving people.'.....
Just as the priest finished his talk, the politician arrived full of apologies at being late. He immediately began to make the presentation and gave his talk. 'I'll never forget the first day our parish priest arrived,' said the politician. 'In fact, I had the honor of being the first one to go to him in confession.'
Moral: NEVER, NEVER, NEVER BE LATE

Texas Baby
Posted by Lisa at Thursday, May 01, 2008A Texan is drinking in a Florida bar when he gets a call on his
cell phone. He hangs up, grinning from ear to ear, and orders a round of
drinks for everybody in the bar announcing his wife has produced a Typical
Texas Baby Boy weighing 25 pounds.
Nobody can believe that any new baby can weigh in at 25 pounds, but
the Texan just shrugs, "That's about average down home, folks. Like I said,
my boy's a Typical Texas Baby Boy." Congratulations showered him from all
around and many exclamations of "WOW!". We heard one woman actually
fainted due to sympathy pains.
Two weeks later he returns to the bar. The bartender says, "Say
you're the father of that typical Texas baby that weighed 25 pounds at
birth. Everybody's been making bets about how big he'd be in two weeks. So
how much does he weigh now?
The proud father answers, "Seventeen pounds." The bartender is
puzzled, concerned and a little suspicious. "What happened? He already
weighed 25 pounds the day he was born!"
The Texas father takes a slow swig from his Lone Star beer, wipes
his lips on his shirt sleeve, leans in to the bartender and proudly says,
"Had'm circumcised
