A Quarter

The following story was sent to me by my hubby in my e-mail. The message is so clear, practice what you preach. You just don't know somebody is watching your actions especially if they know you are a servant of God. I always tell this to hubby because he is also a preacher. Walk the talk.

Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston , Texas . Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to

himself, 'You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.' Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet.'

When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much change ...'

The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the new preacher in town?'

'Yes' he replied.

'Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday.'

When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter.'

Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians, and will put us to the test! Always be on guard -- and remember -- You carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself 'Christian.'

Watch your thoughts ; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

Watched A Movie

It's Holy Week and my hubby and I decided to spend the weekend in the city of pines. We came up here yesterday with my sister and her family. We will be here until Monday and while we are here, we will have to enjoy the cool weather. By the way, we watched the movie last night entitled Left Behind. It's a story about the end times and what will happen after the rapture. The movie was based on a best selling novel with the same title. I was not really satisfied with the movie especially the ending. I think it's "bitin" unlike the movie I have watched many years ago which really had shown what will happen during the tribulation. I just forgot the title of that movie and I wish I can remember it so I can find it in the stores. It will be a good movie for our film showing ministry.

A Car For Us

We finally found a car which is affordable and within our budget. Hubby and I really need one so we can go anywhere we want to go without borrowing my sister's van. We've been borrowing theirs for a year and we kept postponing to buy our own because of low budget. But last week, my hubby had run into a tree while backing up and it created a dent and scratch in my sister's van. I know what happened was an accident but I was upset thinking how much we gonna spend to have the dent removed. So I spent hours in the internet looking for economy cars for sale. I found one and we bought it last Tuesday. We had to changed the 2 tires though and now it runs smoothly. I thank God for giving us the car that we need and we pray that we can use it for many years to come.

About Drinking Water

I have read the importance of drinking water from a book and also from my research in the internet. In fact I've been drinking a few glasses of water right after I get up in the morning. So far so good. It helps me lost some weight. The following will probably amaze and startle you...

One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University study.

Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen

Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

The Real World

It's time to read some jokes guys. My hubby sent to me the following jokes and I've been laughing while reading it. They said that laughter is the best medicine. It's free and it make us feel good. Read on...

The woman applying for a job in a Florida lemon grove seemed way too qualified for the job...
"Look Miss," said the foreman, "have you any actual experience in picking lemons?"
"Well, as a matter of fact, yes!" she replied. "I've been divorced three times."
----------------------------------------------
Because they had no reservations at a busy restaurant, my elderly neighbor and his wife were told there would be a 45-minute wait for a table.
"Young man, we're both 90 years old," the husband said "We may not have 45 minutes."
They were seated immediately.
----------------------------------------------
The reason congressmen try so hard to get re-elected is that they would hate to have to make a living under the laws they've passed.
---------------------------------------------
All eyes were on the radiant bride as her father escorted her down the aisle.
They reached the altar and the waiting groom; the bride kissed her father and placedsomething in his hand.
The guests in the front pews responded with ripples of laughter. Even the priest smiled broadly.
As her father gave her away in marriage, the bride gave him back his credit card.
----------------------------------------------
Three friends from the local congregation were asked,
"When you're in your casket, and friends and congregation members are mourning over you, what would you like them to say?"
Artie said, "I would like them to say I was a wonderful husband, a fine spiritual leader and a great family man."
Eugene commented, "I would like them to say I was a wonderful teacher and servant of God who made a huge difference in people's lives."
Al said, "I'd like them to say, 'Look, he's moving!'"
----------------------------------------------
Smith climbs to the top of Mt. Sinai to get close enough to talk to God. Looking up, he asks the Lord, ;
"God, what does a million years mean to you?" The Lord replies, "A minute." Smith asks,
"And what does a million dollars mean to you?" The Lord re plies, "A penny."
Smith asks, "Can I have a penny?"
The Lord replies, "In a minute."
----------------------------------------------
A man goes to a shrink and says, "Doctor, my wife is unfaithful to me. Every evening, she goes to Larry's bar and picks up men... In fact, she goes with anybody who asks her! I'm going crazy. What do you think I should do?"
"Relax," says the Doctor, "take a deep breath and calm down. Now, tell me, exactly where is Larry's bar?"
----------------------------------------------
John was on his deathbed and gasped pitifully.
"Give me one last request, dear," he said. "Of course, John," his wife said softly.
"Six months after I die," he said, "I want you to marry Bob."
"But I thought you hated Bob," she said.
With his last breath John said, "I do!"

It's Been Ages...

...since the last time I updated this blog. I didn't go anywhere. It's just that we didn't have internet connection again because of the same old problem, somebody had stolen again the phone line in our area. It's really so disgusting why the thieves keep stealing the phone lines. They said the thieves sell the copper that they get from the phone cables and they make money out of that. They steal during the night when all people are sleeping in the area where there are no houses. This is the 2nd time it happened this year. I just hope they will stop stealing so we will not lost our phone and internet connection. I missed checking my e-mail, facebook, friendster, communicating with my friends and loved ones and of course updating my blogs. I missed blogging and making money online.
