Our trip to the Philippines is getting closer. My hubby and I have been busy packing up our things. I didn't realize how hard it was to pack until I started it. We've been doing it for a few days already but it seems like the packing is unending. We already have given away a lot of stuffs that we can't take with us but still there are lots of things remaining. My step-kids came last week and got some of the furniture and appliances and a lot more. We also had given some to my friends and also to our neighbor. We had thrown a bunch in the dumpster and my hubby had given some to Salvation army. I didn't realize how much we got until I packed. Hopefully, we will be done tomorrow and leave this house on Monday. We will go to my step-daughter's house and spend Christmas and New Year there before we fly to the Philippines. I'm already excited to see my family but at the same time sad because I'll be leaving my friends and family here in Texas. I'm pretty sure I gonna miss them when my hubby and I will leave.

My Other Blog
Posted by Lisa at Tuesday, December 16, 2008I just created another blog folks. I hope you will visit it too by clicking here. I didn't want to make another blog but since this blog of mine has been flagged down by PPP, I decided to create another one. I even bought a domain because it's on sale right now at 1and1. I only paid $3.99 for my domain for 1 year and it's really a good deal. See you in my other blog entitled Memory Lane.

Pandesal and Cinnamon Rolls From My Friend
Posted by Lisa at Tuesday, December 09, 2008A Filipina friend of mine gave me some of her home-made pandesal and cinnamon rolls yesterday. She is really a good cook and her pandesal taste so good. Here in the US especially in Texas, you can't find pandesal in the stores or bakeshops. I was so delighted when my friend called me and she told me that she will stopped by and give me some of the pandesal and cinnamon rolls that she baked. I told her before that my hubby love to eat pandesal and both of us have been craving for it. We ate some of the pandesal last night and we still have some left and I put it in the freezer. They were so good! It won't be long and we will be in the Philippines and we can eat freshly baked pandesal. I can't wait to be there.

Black Friday Shopping
Posted by Lisa at Monday, December 01, 2008My hubby and I went shopping at Wal Mart last Black Friday. We didn't go until 10 AM though and most of the items on sale were already gone and sold out. We were able to buy just one Wrangler blue jeans for my hubby which was on sale for $8. We wanted to buy at least 3 pairs but there were only 2 left and the other 1 was not his size. They said that our economy is getting weak but the people rushed out to the stores to avail the discounted prices of the items on sale. The stores were full of shoppers. Nothing can stop people from shopping. The discounted prices had attracted lots of people to go shop in the stores as early as 4 AM. I didn't want to wake up early and fall in line in the store so we just went there late. I was able to buy a 4GB USB flash drive for my computer so I can store some of my files in it. It was on sale for only $9. We didn't have much to buy because those items on sale were almost gone.
